France’s solar sector doesn’t slow down. With 5.9 GW of new PV capacity installed in 2025 — a new national record — France’s cumulative installed base reached 31.1 GW by end of December. For context, that’s nearly double what existed just three years ago.

France’s draft PPE3 energy plan sets a solar target of 54 to 60 GW by 2030, implying annual additions of 6 to 8 GW — a pace the country has never sustained before. The pipeline is there.
