Greensolver at the Wind Power Finance & Investment Summit 2026 - London, 1st of July
On 1 July 2026, London will host the Wind Power Finance & Investment Summit, part of the Clean Power 2030 Summits series. The event brings together investors, banks, developers and asset managers shaping the future of onshore and offshore wind across the UK and Europe.
Greensolver will be there, represented by George Hodgkinson, Senior Business Developer, and Léo Chalon, Director Financial Advisory.
The UK Wind Market at an Inflection Point
The UK has set itself an ambitious target: clean sources generating at least 95% of Great Britain’s electricity by 2030, under the government’s Clean Power 2030 Action Plan. To get there, both onshore and offshore wind need to scale fast. Offshore wind, already Europe’s largest market at 14 GW installed, is expected to need an additional 28-35 GW to reach 43-50 GW by 2030. Onshore wind capacity, meanwhile, needs to roughly double to 27 GW in the same timeframe — a shift supported by the recent removal of planning restrictions that had constrained onshore development since 2015.
Behind these targets lies a simple reality: capital needs to move faster, and projects need to prove their bankability with increasing rigor to attract it.
Why Financial Modelling and Bankability Matter More Than Ever
As the wind pipeline grows and competition for capital intensifies, robust financial modelling has become a determining factor in getting projects financed — and refinanced — on the best possible terms. Lenders and investors are scrutinising revenue assumptions, merchant risk exposure, CfD and corporate PPA structures, and grid connection timelines more closely than ever. A project’s bankability is no longer just about the resource and the technology; it’s about how convincingly its financial model withstands stress-testing across multiple market scenarios.
This is where rigorous, independent financial advisory makes the difference between a project that attracts capital and one that stalls.
