Greensolver client, a well-known developer started structuring its solar and BESS projects, at very different stages of progress. Greensolver supported the client in its understanding of the storage market and helped structuring its portfolio.
The scope of the work covered:
- Financial:
- Comparative modeling of project types to guide strategic allocation across standalone projects andhybrid.
- Configuration-specific revenue simulation, integrating realistic revenue staking (Day-ahead, IntradayFCR, aFRR, energy markets, capacity mechanisms).
- Optimization of sizing and co-location, to maximize synergies between PV production and storage assets.
- Integration of cost, technology, and performance benchmarks, aligned with project types and technicalmaturity.
- Customized valuation logic, adapted to the client specific financial structure, constraints, and returnexpectations.
- Scenario analysis, supporting project prioritization based on IRR, CAPEX profile, and risk-adjusted return.
- PPA:
- Structuration of ~60 MW of PV projects for corporate PPA compatibility, including CRE and non-CREassets.
- Definition of optimal PPA structures (physical/virtual, pay-as-produced/baseload) aligned with the client’sconsumption profile and asset characteristics.
- Analysis of financing and risk allocation, ensuring project bankability under French market conditions.
- Integration of PPA logic into supply strategy, covering aggregation, sleeving, and contractual flows.
- Support of market deployment, with a tailored go-to-market approach based on project maturity andregulatory positioning.
Throughout the mission, the client’s portfolio was strategically restructured to align with the evolving BESS market. As a result, the clientis now exploring a diverse range of BESS opportunities, across various sizes and configurations, with a strong focus on standalone andco-located project development.
