A Solar Project Can Have a Lifespan of 30 Years

Research shows that the average degradation rate of PV modules is approximately 0.5% per year, and that modules continue to perform beyond their first 30 years of operation.

Photon, a photovoltaic industry magazine, published a study indicating that degradation remains linear even after the first 30 years for the PV modules analyzed. Based on this, it can be estimated that in 30 years, the peak power of a module will be around 74% of its original capacity.

This remaining power output is high enough to ensure economic viability, provided that the modules receive optimal maintenance throughout their operational lifetime.
